A Corn Island Guest Blog By Emily

So I finally made it to Corn Island and I now know why those girls like it there so much! It was so amazing to meet everyone and to see the hard work they have been doing for the past ten months. Heres a little bit of my experience....here we go...

Notice the pigment diffence in Lynette and I. When i met people they would say "Que blanca, que blanca!" Si, yo se.

In my fist day in service we worked in a miskito village. They have recently recieved their "Would You Like to Know the Truth?" tracks.

Taking the bus to go in service on the North End. It's so pretty there!

These drinks had a cinnamon-milky taste....it was interesting.

Lynette and Danielito. His seriousness is so funny! Keysi and Zaid. The famous twins. Zaid and I were playing a clapping game and he was beating me so bad!~ The twins at lunch break while we were in service.

Bolis. Love them. They are like popsicles of love, only in a baggie. Amazing service pictures. They are working so hard there! Keep it up!

After all the hard work we needed a day at the day at the beach.

There is this really nice dock that the owners let them use whenever they want. The water was

so warm and blue!

Whenever somebody leaves the island they all meet at the beach and then go to Jeremy's for breakfast. Here I am eating a pancake in the form of an "E".mmmmmm...

And so we have reached the end of the guest blog. Thanks guys for such a great experience! See you soon. Chrissy, I am waiting for you in Maine :)

Kingdom Hall Dedication

Yes - finally after much work Corn Island had thier Kingdom Hall dedication!! Most of the work was done for the memorial but we still had a few touch ups...
Chrissy cleaning tile grout
Domingo watering the grass
Rodrigo, Matt and Jeremy chipping cement
Kerri painting inside
A couple of my studies came for the dedication - I held little Lorbes, a son of one of my studies. Isnt he cute?

One of the most exciting parts of the day was ones that had served here years ago came back and Isaac interviewed them about serving here.... Carmen and Suzette were PET ( temporary special pioneers ) here on the island
Robert and Vanesa Johnson were Special Pioneers - lots of people from the island remeber them well and were very excited to see them againThe brother from the Nicaraguan branch that gave the dedication talkThe brother to the left is Orin Forbes - he lives on the main land and has done a lot to help the small groupWe had a full house - standing room onlyDaniel enjoying some snacks after
Abby and Vasti
Vasti and Carmen - Vasti is the ONLY teenager that is a witness on the island and only ever is on the main land for assemblies when her and her mom can go, so having everyone here was SO exciting for her!!

This is Matt and Kerri, they lived with Jeremy for 3 weeks and helped us SOO much with getting ready for the dedication!! They had to leave on the afternoon flight that day so they couldnt stay for the big dinner - even though they made food for it.... We love you guys!!
Special Pioneers of Corn Island past and present

Taking Matt and Kerri to the airport
We built a BBQ especially for the dedication dinner we had that night...what other Kingdom Hall has thier very own BBQ between two coconut trees?
The dedication dinner was great and everyone had such a memorable evening!
