Memorial

I know the memorial season has been over for a bit but I wanted to post some pictures of the first memorial in a real Kingdom Hall here on Corn Island. Even though when we got here in September the construction of the Hall was officially over it still needed alot of work before it looked like a real hall. We all really had to put it into high gear in order to get it ready for such an importent day.

The Kingdom Hall had no paint or plaster so one of the first things was to hire out getting the plaster done since none of us really knew what we were doing and they were alot faster!

Isaac spent a day priming the outside
Then us girls started painting REALLY early in the morning - the sun was just starting to rise
Danielle working hard
Laura working on the side of the Kingdom Hall
A happy yellow for the Hall

The back of the Hall - the door is really just a gate

And now its a pretty hall ready for the Memorial and the sign is in the 3 languages of the island!!
The morning of the Memorial Laura and I went on a search for pretty flowers

The taxi driver we hired for the morning even got into it - climbing trees with machetes takes real talent
The taxi smelled so good
Then the set up began - we strung up extra lights for the ones that had to sit outside
Lots of chairs inside
And rented chairs outside ( the little yellow building is the bathroom )
Emblems
Pretty smelling flowers
Some of the sister had privileges like greeting people at the door and passing the emblems. I'm happy to say i didnt spill any bread or wine while passing!
Isaac and Laura
We certainly had a full house! 121 in attendance - not bad for a group of 10 publishers
Me with one of my miskito studies and her sister in law
Danielle and her study Flor
Margarita and her study Judy

Angie and her parents Miguel and Rose
It was alot of hard work for such a small group but it was so worth it! It was such a happy night on Corn Island!
